The Washington College of Law is a global school that was founded as a graduate institution. In 1980, the International Legal Studies Program was started by the Washington College of Law, in response to a growing demand for lawyers trained in international law. At WCL, students from law schools in more than 60 countries around the world, can specialize in International Business Law, International Protection of Human Rights, International Organizations, International Environmental Law, and Gender and the Law.

Washington College of Law has a special link with Pakistan College of Law. Every year, a large number of students from PCL are admitted in WCL and many are offered scholarships and tuition remissions. Even this year, 6 students from PCL are going to WCL to pursue their LL.M. degree.
