Adjunct Faculty

Honorable Mr. Justice (R) Karmat Nazir Bhandari

Karmat Nazir Bhandari is the retired Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and is now a member of visiting faculty of PCL.

His main areas of teaching revolve around jurisprudential issues in Constitutional Law and Civil Procedure. He conducts regular visits to the College to teach final year students of LL.B. His contribution and teaching is highly appreciated by the student body.

Honorable Mr. Justice (Rtd.) Nasim Sabir Chaudhry

Barrister Nasim Sabir Chaudhry is a former judge of the Lahore High Court. He completed his post-graduation from the University of Punjab and went on to be called to the Bar from the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.

Barrister Sabir has several years of legal practice to his credit in which he has developed expertise in areas of civil, criminal and constitutional matters. In the area of teaching, Mr. Sabir conducted Diploma classes in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Punjab. He has been teaching in PCL since its inception and at present he is a visiting Professor of Law. His areas of instruction are Company Law and Conveyancing and Pleadings.

Anwar Hussain

Upon completing his B.Sc from University of Punjab Mr. Anwaar Hussain obtained his legal education from the Pakistan College of Law. He went on to complete his LL.M from the prestigious McGill University, Canada with merit. He excelled as a student and was a recipient of several awards at College.

In his LL.B University examinations he obtained the highest aggregate merit and went on to top in the Punjab University Diploma courses on Labour and Intellectual Property Laws. His professional life includes working in the law firm of Cornelius, Lane & Mufti, as well as being a partner in the firm of Anwaar, Asim & Nauman. He is presently a legal consultant to the Government of Punjab. Alongside his practice, Mr. Anwaar Hussain pursued teaching in PCL for a number of years, which led to his present appointment as a visiting Associate Professor in the College. His areas of interest lie in Contracts, Property Laws, Labor Laws and Taxation and he also tutors on American Constitutional Law and History. He is considered to be well respected not only in his legal practice but also on the basis of his professional repute that is highly regarded by the College as well as the student body of PCL. Mr. Anwar has also served in the Department of Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Punjab in the capacity of Legal Draftman. His major work includes the drafting of Punjab Rented Premises Ordinance 2007.

Muhammad Afzal Khan

Mr. Muhammad Afzal is a graduate of the University of Punjab, where he obtained distinction in the University examinations. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and is a senior partner in the law firm of Afzal & Associates, Lahore.

Since qualifying as a lawyer, Mr. Afzal has been working as an Associate with such reputable firms as Meer Law Associates along with such senior lawyers as Barrister Maqbool Elahi Malik and Syed Asghar Haider presently, judge of Lahore High Court. At present Mr. Afzal is a visiting Lecturer for Civil Procedure Code at Pakistan College of Law. His specialist areas include, Islamic Jurisprudence, Procedure and Equity. Mr. Muhammad Afzal also has the honor of being the first recruit of Teaching Assistant Programme initiated by Prof. Humayoun Ihsan in PCL.

PCL is very proud of having Mr. Afzal as a Lecturer at the College as the depth and conceptual clarity he will provide to PCL students is a rare quality. His legal experience is also something which will prove to be immensely useful to the students pursuing law as a future career.

Usman Arif

 

Mr. Muhammed Usman Arif is a graduate of Government College, Lahore and obtained his legal education from the Pakistan College of Law. He went on for higher education by being selected for the prestigious George Washington University’s LL.M programme in International and Corporate Law. He is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan and conducts a successful civil law practice in one of the best chambers in Lahore.

Professional interests of Mr. Usman Arif extend to the academic arena. For a number of years, he has developed expertise in the areas of Commercial and Intellectual Property Laws. He has been a visiting faculty at the Institute of Business and Information Technology, Punjab University and is at present a member of faculty in Pakistan College of Law. As a visiting Lecturer in PCL, he teaches Property and Commercial Laws. His ability to impart knowledge and professional approach towards teaching law is highly regarded by the College and the student body.

Mian Muhammad Kashif

After doing his graduation from the Government College, Lahore, Mian Muhammad Kashif obtained his degree in law from the Punjab University Law College in the year 2001.
Immediately thereafter he started his law practice in the civil courts of Lahore. He has been practicing as an Advocate of the High Courts since 2004 at Lahore. For the last three years, he is associated with a leading law firm in Lahore, Bhandari, Naqvi & Riaz and is working there as a Partner.
He has a number of reported cases to his credit and specialises in civil, commercial, banking and constitutional laws and handles litigation with respect thereto. He has significant exposure to Arbitration Laws and proceedings and, as an Advocate, has conducted arbitration proceedings between multinational companies.

Zainab Lodhi

Ms. Zainab Lodhi obtained her legal qualifications from the University of the Punjab. She has been for the past seven years practicing law with the law firm of Cornelius, Lane and Mufti. Ms. Lodhi has attended national and international conferences in Pakistan as well as in China. She is permanent faculty in PCL, where her areas of teaching are Property Laws with special focus on Intellectual Property.

Usman Chaudhry

Mr. Usman is a graduate of the University of London and obtained his LL.M from Queen Mary University. He has for a number of years combined his legal practice with teaching the subject of Contract Law. He is an Associate in the Lahore law firm of Shafiq Sons Law Associates.

Shahid Masud

Barrister Shahid Masud is a graduate of Manchester University and a Barrister of Lincolns Inn. He is a praticing lawyer and is an Advocate of the Lahore High Court. His assignments include the subject of European Union Law, which he teaches on the University of London Programme.

Fayez Qamar Rasheed

Fayez Qamar is a graduate of the University of London. He is a practicing lawyer and he is teaching in PCL as a Tutor for the subject of Criminal Law and Lecturer of the Islamic Law on the University of London International Programmes.

Sheharbano Iqbal

Ms. Sheharbano Iqbal is a law graduate of the University of London and is currently an Associate in the law firm of HaidermotaBNR. Ms. Sheharbano is presently providing Tutorials on the subject of Contract Law to the students of Pakistan College of Law on the University of London International Programmes.

Nauman Qaiser

Mr. Nauman Qaiser is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan and graduated with an LL.B from Pakistan College of Law. He also completed a Diploma in Corporate Law and Practice from the Punjab University. Mr. Nauman is currently teaching Conveyancing and Pleading in Pakistan College of Law.

Muhammad Shahzad Saeed

Mr. Muhammad Shahzad Saeed is a graduate of Government College University, Lahore and obtained his legal education from Punjab University Law College (PU). He is an advocate High Court and is continuing his legal practice in criminal law and is specialized in murder trials.

Maria Chaudary

Ms. Maria Chaudhry’s academic background in law includes LLB (Hons.) from University of London International Programmes and LLM from Queen Mary, University of London. She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate High Court (Pakistan) in 2014. Her work experience spans legal practice, research and academia. She has previously worked as a Consultant with Coffey International and Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. She has over 5 years of experience teaching University of London undergraduate and post graduate law courses at home and abroad. She has taught Commercial Law for Business at Birkbeck College, University of London and the law module for Humanities & Law International Foundation Year Programme at INTO City, University of London – a partner organisation of City, University of London.

She is a Visiting Faculty member at PCL, where she teaches on the University of London International Programmes as Lecturer European Union Law.


Nida Usman Chaudhary

LL.B ( London), LL.M ( London)
Nida holds LL.B (Hons) and LL.M in Law & Development from University of London. She is the Founder of Lahore Education And Research Network (LEARN) and of the ‘Women in Law’ initiative in Pakistan. She is currently serving as the Chairperson of Gender Equality and Diversity Committee of the Lahore High Court Bar Association. Her work has been published in international journals and she is a regular contributor to op-eds of notable newspapers such as Daily Times, The Nation and online portals including Courting The Law, NayaDaur and African International Legal Awareness.

Nida has over 14 years of teaching experience during which she has taught different modules of the University of London LL.B and LL.M. She teaches Property Law and Company Law at Pakistan College of Law.

She combines her professional interests in law and human rights with her activism on environmental and development issues. Her research interests include: Gender, Diversity, Access and Inclusion and their interplay with socio-economic and political opportunities. She is also interested to explore the nexus between business and human rights.

Zeeshaan Hashmi

LL.B (London), LL.M (Harvard)
Mr. Zeeshaan Zafar Hashmi holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School where he was awarded the Islamic Legal Studies Writing Prize and was an Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. Zeeshaan is also an LL.B. (Hons.) graduate from the University of London International Programme at Pakistan College of Law. During his time at PCL, Zeeshaan brought many mooting accolades to the College, including representing the College and Pakistan for the first time in the Hong Kong IHL Moot and the ICRC Regional Henry Dunant Moot, where he won the “Best Advocate in South Asia” award.

Zeeshaan has been practising law in Pakistan for several years and has remained Law Clerk to the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan and Consultant on International Disputes to the Attorney-General for Pakistan. He is currently a partner at the law firm of Shujra, Farooq & Hashmi. Zeeshaan is the Lecturer on Jurisprudence & Legal Theory on the University of London International Programme at Pakistan College of Law

S. Ali Raza Shah

LL.B (USA) , LLM (Singapore)
Syed Ali Raza is a lawyer and rule of law expert based in Pakistan. He is a Draper Hills Fellow from the Stanford University, USA; Legislative Fellow of the US State Department; and an LL.M. Graduate in International and Comparative Laws from the National University of Singapore. He also attended the prestigious Bucerius Summer School of Law & Global Governance in Hamburg, Germany and completed Leadership Academy for Development Program at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia.

Ali is a Managing Partner at Common Law Chambers (CLC), and Ali frequently ensures representation on behalf of clients before higher judicial forums and has remained part of few important decisions. He has taught at country’s largest university; continues to be a visiting faculty member at one of the leading law colleges of Pakistan; and remained associated with the Punjab Judicial Academy for training of judges.  Ali has contributed to legal and public policy debate in Pakistan and Asia through various articles that have appeared in newspapers and international law journals.

Muhammad Saram Israr

Mr. Israr is an advocate of the Lahore High Court, a Barrister of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, and a Civil and Commercial Mediator (accredited by ADR group UK). He is a Senior Associate at M/S Minto & Mirza, Advocates and Solicitors. Mr. Israr’s main areas of practice are Civil, Corporate and Commercial litigation. He teaches Labour Laws to the final year students of LLB at Pakistan College of Law.

Dr. Zia Ullah Ranjha

Mr. Ranjah is Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan. He holds a doctorate in law. Before joining Jurist Panel, he worked with RIAA Barker Gillette, a leading international law firm for many years. He has appeared in hundreds of cases before the superior courts of Pakistan.

Mr. Ranjah has been a consultant in law reforms project conducted in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank. He has delivered lectures on law at National Defense University, Foreign Service Academy, National Police Academy, International Islamic University (Islamabad) and Civil Services Academy, Punjab Judicial Academy, and Punjab University Law College (Lahore). He has contributed in seminars at SOAS, University of London, University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. He has attended The Hague Academy courses of international law. He has published legal opinions and articles in national and international law journals and influential newspapers. He is a member of the Committee of Editors of the Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law-Brill.

Faiz ullah Niazi

Mr. Faizullah Khan Niazi is a graduate of University of London and has completed his LL.M from University College London. Mr. Faizullah is a practicing lawyer and currently teaching Equity and Trust in Pakistan College of Law.

Ms. Minahil Rafique is a practicing lawyer and Advocate of Lahore High Court. She is a graduate of University of London and has an LL.M from SOAS, University of London. Currently she teaches the subject Conflict of Laws to University of London students in Pakistan College of Law.

Mr Ch Muhammad Ali is a Graduate of University of London hold a postgraduate law degree from Australia. He is practicing law as a senior Associate in the law firm of Cornelius ,Lane and Mufti.In Pakistan College of Law he teaches the subject of Commercial Law to University of London students.
